We had so much fun this summer that we decided to extend our "Temari ball class" into a monthly "Temari Ball Club". We will meet at the shop from 6:30 - 9:00 on the first Tuesday of each month. Everyone is welcome. Come to work on your own ball or just stop by to see what we are doing. -- no charge.
Our Temari balls start with a styrofoam ball. We cover the ball by wrapping it with a solid color sewing thread. Then the fun begins... Colorful pearl cotton and metallic threads are wrapped and sewn onto the ball to form a piece of art.
If you would like to learn this technique, Carol can get you started with a simple ball in one evening. If you are coming for the Tuesday "class", please register ahead of time. We will teach up to 3 new students each month. The cost for this class is $10. This will include a ball pre-wrapped with the base color and your choice of 3 pearl cottons and a metallic thread. ... After the initial class, keep coming to the monthly club to learn from and share ideas with the other gals.
During the first week of our class, we were admiring the beautiful temari balls made by Pilar, our instructor
